Found this idea online, I love things that are super-easy and super-cute.
He loves his Thomas the Train pillow from Dan and Mimi. It was so cute, after his nap that day, Emmery brought it into his room and tossed it in his crib. He crawled over to it and just laid his head down like he was giving it a hug.
Emmery loves to go out to the garage and blow bubbles, do sidewalk chalk, and of course, eat popsicles! I usually eat one and let Marc have a few licks. Today he grabbed it out of my hand and held it perfectly! He is definitely wanting his independence lately... Such a big boy!!
Pictures from the zoo on Tuesday. I am sooo mad at myself! I forgot the camera. Since it was a weekday it was the perfect opportunity to get some great shots of the kids. On the weekends it's so crowded, you're basically just trying to keep TRACK of your child, taking pictures is the last thing on your mind.
So not the greatest picture, but I had to include it for this reason.... We brought the wagon with us this time. One day while we were hanging in the garage I decided to take the chalk and write the kids names on the wagon. As we walked into this aquarium a woman stopped Mikey and said, "Is your daughter's name Emmery?" and Mikey said yes. So she said "that's her name!" And she pointed to her daughter in the stroller. She said she spelled it with one M instead of two. It was really strange though, because as we were walking through, we would hear a random "Emmery!" and then realize it was the other "Emery." This was the first other Emmery I'd ever seen with my own two eyes.
Gawd!.... This shows you how much I love my kids. Disgusting picture of me but I definitely wanted to include it because it was so cool. Another perk of going to the zoo on a weekday is that you get an opportunity to feed the giraffes! Basically they allow guests to feed the giraffes some lettuce (for $5). On a weekend there is a line for this, but we just walked right up. Emmery loved it! At first, when they tried to grab it, she held on and pulled back so they couldn't get a grasp. I told her, "just let it go!" and she finally figured it out. It was so cool. She's still talking about it today.
Of course we had to go on the merry-go-round! Emme scoped out the froggie while we were waiting in line...
This snake sculpture was cool, Emmery couldn't stop kissing it!
There was one of those cool little crawl-through-tunnels-under-the-water, and Emmery finally had enough courage to try it out. She went through about 6 times before we convinced her to move on.
So I decided to stick Marc in there. OMG he was in heaven!!!!
Finally some other kids wanted to go through, and Marc was just going back and forth! I had to climb in there to pry him out!!
Red Pandas And back at home now. Marc had his eye on this 5 pound weight. He tried to pick it up and realized it was heavy. |
He tried and tried and finally turned it vertically to lift it off the ground. It was so funny because he would whine/cry while he struggled to lift it and by the time he had it in the air he was giggling. Also hard to catch this action with a phone!! Didn't have the other camera nearby, but still tried to catch the moment :-)
So this is the awesome birthday gift from Aunt Kate! It's this rubber bouncy toy and he LOVES it! He gets on it and tries to bounce up and down, he doesn't totally get it yet but his eyes sure light up when he sees it! So cute. Emmery, on the other hand, is putting on a show...
This afternoon, while Mikey was running on the treadmill, I took the kids up to the playroom. I was kinda sleepy so I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes for a few minutes. The playroom is very safe so I wasn't worried too much about any serious injuries.... I open my eyes to THIS....
Okay okay, I took the diaper off, not him. But it was still a pretty cute sight to see when I opened my eyes.
................ monkey.
