Birthday Party

On Saturday we  were invited to a birthday party for a boy in our playgroup.  He turned 4.  The party was awesome.  My friend Mirna really knows how to throw a party.  She got it catered and the food was delicious.  It was a beautiful fall day, perfect for an outdoor party.

Emmery loves the singing part, so I told her to go up there and stand right next to Adrian.  She was in heaven!

The party was pirate themed, so Mirna got a pirate piñata.  It was so awesome!!  Of course it was Emmery's first time ever seeing a piñata.  She was pretty confused.  Mirna put the kids in line by height, boys in one line girls in the other.  Emmery waited patiently.

Adrian got to go first since he was the birthday boy.

Emmery's turn!

I got it on video.  Pretty funny.

Earlier that day I asked Emmery if she wanted to be Milli or a princess for the party.  She said a princess.  So I got out some dresses that my mom had bought for her when she was in India.  These dresses are absolutely beautiful.  The detail is incredible.  The top part fits her great but the skirt is just way too big.  We tried to roll it over and over to make it shorter, which worked, but very temporarily.  She was able to make her "entrance" in her skirt but we changed her into jeans so that she could play.

How awesome is this bun in her hair?  I did it using a "hair donut."  Ever heard of them?  They are amazing!!

Since Em was a princess, Marc couldn't be Geo!  So we put his monkey costume on him.  We got it at Costco a while ago and held onto it just in case.

Tomorrow is Halloween, so who knows what they'll dress up as!

More playground pics and getting ready for Halloween

Sharing the swing again.  Emmery hates it, Marc loves it.

She's wiping the dirt off Marc's butt.

These next pictures are funny.  I liked the shot of Marc next to the tree so I had to coax Em to come over and pose with him...

Best I could get...

And then Marc goes downnnn......

We decided to do Costco on Thursday night.  Emmery was dying to play the piano.

On Friday night, a girl in our Summerwood play group had a costume party.

Milli and Geo..

Em did her own makeup.  Yikes.

A couple videos from the playground...

Pumpkin Patch

I took the kids to a "pumpkin patch" at a local church.  We'd been meaning to go, and I knew if I put it off they would not have as many pumpkins, and I was right.  I got a few shots of them.  Not what I had hoped but at least we went.

Emmery grabbed some of the smaller pumpkins and decided to put them in a line.  I've noticed she's started to do this with other things too, not real sure what that's about....

So I think the whole area behind this bench used to be filled with pumpkins.  Now it looks a little bare!!

Marc Giggles

More pics from this week

I decided to give Marc a whole strawberry instead of cutting up little pieces.
I love the look on his face here.  He's like "and what do you expect me to do with this??"

Ready for Sunday football!!

I like Em's face here...

My attempts at getting a good picture of both kids

This is hilarious.  I asked Emmery to sit next to Marc so I could get a good picture of them together.  Here are my NINE attempts.  Good stuff....

.... Gotta love digital cameras.  I guess I'll try it again sometime!

Zoo Boo and other stuff...

So I thought the weather was finally starting to be tolerable.  We had one day where the temperature only reached into the mid-70's.  I was so excited that it was going to be "cool" so I found some long-sleeved outfits for the kiddos and we headed to the playground.

 Emmery is tracking a dragonfly.

It seems that she has mastered this playground.  I rarely have to help her, but it's hard to just stand by and watch!!

This is how Marc goes down the slide.  Crawls to the top, lets go, and slides down!  He loves it!

Emmery pretty much asks to go to the zoo every day.  So on Sunday we decided to check out "Zoo Boo." They basically decorate the exhibits and have a few different fall/Halloween activities for the kids.  It was cute.  The mosquitos are horrendous in Houston right now.  On our way there we stopped to get some bug spray.  I grabbed the one that had the highest concentration of Deet.  Very glad I did!

Wake up Bear!!

They had little stations where they were giving away candy.  Marc loved to hold as many pieces as he could.  Until he figured out what was inside.  Then we had to take it away.

They had a little "Pumpkin Patch." The kids could pick one of these teeny tiny pumpkins and decorate it.

Her favorite thing to do at the zoo!  The tunnel!  We didn't put Marc in this time because it was so crowded.

This frog was called a Tomato Frog or something. Looks just like a tomato!

Exhausted!
