Putting together these last few blogs really makes it look like we do not supervise our children at all. We do! I pretty much spend my whole day just cleaning up after the last mess. They destroy one room, and once they are done I go clean up after them and while I am cleaning up, they are onto their next escapade! I don't even want to imagine them as teenagers!
So I think Marc was sleeping. Emmery wanted to play with some stamps that I had in the craft closet. So I got them out for her and got her some paper. After a few minutes, she walked into the living room and told us that she had made a mess. I thought, what kind of mess could she have made with stamps??! She turned around to walk back into the art room and we noticed her (naked) butt was covered with glitter. Glitter??? Where the hell did she get glitter??? I put all the messy craft supplies up high in the closet so she can't get into them. Well, she did.
See the glitter on her butt cheeks?
So this is what was left. Pretty sure each one of those canisters was full...
Emmery started to complain that she had glitter in her butt crack so I brought her into our bathroom to give her a shower. Seriously, this was the same day, I am not making this up... We walked into the bathroom and it sounded like water was dripping. For a moment I wondered if we left the bathtub faucet running. Emmery said to me, "what does that sound like, mommy?" Then I looked at the window over the bathtub and thought, hmmm, that looks kinda weird. Then I realized that the sound we were hearing was the window CRACKING! It was literally breaking right in front of our eyes! I called for Mikey. He was like, "oh, my, God."
So the window had spiderwebbed. Mikey went online and contacted some glass companies. They told him that this happens all the time. A sudden change of temperature or pressure can cause the glass to spontaneously break. Ohhhh. Then it all started to make sense. Any time the nightly temperatures reach below 50, we open our bedroom windows. So the temperature probably went from like 70 to like 40 in a matter of minutes! Whoops! Luckily, it all ends well. We called our builder and told them our window broke for NO REASON and they replaced it. Yay!
